This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri knows it has only been a couple of weeks and that the stress of care giving for so many years has probably taken a major toll on her, but her anxiety seems to be getting worse rather than better. It is almost like she had been in survival mode for so long that now in the stillness of her mind , all the stored up stress and anxiety is finally leaking out ... everywhere.
Sheri needs to pause, praise and pray.

  2. Dear Sheri...be gentle with yourself. I'll bet you go to see the boys every day. Maybe you should wean yourself to every other day? The boys probably won't notice. In fact it might encourage further friend making in their new neighborhood. And after awhile, you could consider a weekend getaway. The boys are safe and I know you could find a puppy sitter for your adorable Mr. Cooper. You are just beginning to come up for air. You've reached a milestone and you've done a fine job to get everyone here safely. Be well. Marie
