This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was a build anything, fix anything managed a hardware store handyman. "Al" however is fascinated by Bob"s pliers, the set that survived the duel. Each morning "Al" asks Sheri if she has seen how they spread apart and then close again, which is followed by "and I like the pretty yellow handles too." The handy is definitely gone out of the man. :)
Sweet kind man.

  1. Hope you have a good day. My dad is suffering from dementia? His short term memory is gone. I live in MN and know how long our winters are. The older I get the more difficult it seems to be! I dislike the lack of sunshine. Anyway prayers to your family.
