This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

At church on Sunday, daughter number one tried to quiet "Al" when he was slapping and singing at a time of quite reflection and prayer. She put her hand slightly over his and said it was a special song and that only the lady up front was singing right now. "Al" with a tone of angry confidence replied "This is choir, and that is what we are suppose to do." And in many ways, he was right.

Psalm 5:11
But let all who take refuge in You be glad, Let them ever sing for joy; And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may exult in You.
