This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

There are days when Bob and "Al"can barely get any sentences put together, and then there are days the boys surprise her. "Al"offered Sheri some of Bob's bolts yesterday morning. Sheri politely declined and said "Oh thanks, but those are for you." "Al" replied "They give me these bolts when I sing in the choir so I have "beaucoup". She just chuckled in wonderment to herself, Bob has been known to throw in a German word here or there, or even a "Ya, you bet'cha" but she doesn't ever remember any French coming out of his mouth. What a strange disease. :)
