This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob is losing his ability to understand how to eat food. "Al" will use is fingers to pick apart a salad and roll the lettuce and put it in his mouth, or pick the kernels of corn off the cob with his fingers one kernel at a time. She has seen him attempt to eat dry cat food bits several times. Sheri realizes these are signs of things to come. She needs to remember to live in the moment and ...order some Usingers bratwurst (Bob's favorite food) while Bob might still enjoy it.
Simple pleasures.
