This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is sure God has a plan for her life, but she is only human. Some days (okay most days) she has to reach deep to find comfort. She feels alone, scared and fearful of the future. She looks in the face of a man she does not recognize, and then has to remember that "Al" too is staring often now, into a face he does not recognize either. This thought however painful, centers her and forces her to be more patience and kind.
Sheri needs to pause , praise and pray.

  1. Praying for you my fellow caregiver. I know how hard and scary it feels. Emmanuel is with us even in the darkest and loneliest moments. MI pray that your strength be renewed today. I pray that God's comfort envelope your heart. I pray for joy and restfulness for today.
