This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Truth be told, Sheri is tired. This Alzheimer wife-life can be overwhelmingly lonely. Sheri knows it is not Bob's fault, but occasionally she has a private pity party, to which she then looks around at all incredibly bad things that are happening in the world and realizes she has so very much to be thankful for. The one thing she knows for sure is that the lack of relationship and intimacy for so very many years has forced her to look elsewhere for comfort and renewal, that elsewhere turned out to be inward and upward.
2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
