This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sometimes in this Alzheimer world she lives in, Sheri finds it hard to have a grateful heart. Yesterday she woke up with the  "why me attitude" that she hates to admit creeps in to her mind from time to time. So Sheri threw her camera in the car and after dropping Bob off at "work" (code for Adult Day Center) stopped at her favorite park before she went to work.  For Sheri, just a few minutes in cool fresh air breathing in God's glory is enough to change the whole tone of her day.  :)

  1. Sheri, I know we can all relate to your feelings. My son and his family moved to CO from AR 5 years ago and my heart was broken. Then my husband's diagnosis. Well they moved back in July and they bring such joy and life back into my life. My three grandsons especially.

  2. You are so entitled to have that attitude. I would probably have one everyday.
