This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Another interesting memory Sheri has about the early days when things were, shall she say... strange.
Sheri came home from work one day to find this "home improvement." Note that the edge of the counter is what.. maybe two inches from the new hole Bob drilled? Or was that "Al"?

  1. How long were these strange behaviors occurring before Bob was diagnosed?

    1. Anonymous thank you for reading :) I would say 5 years or so, I just did not know enough to question. Thank you for commenting.

  2. Thanks. I know I am headed down the same path with my husband but the path will have a name after his neurology exam in January. Right now it is mainly short term memory loss and some difficulty doing things he found easy before. Your stories let me know what I will be facing and I can see how hard it is for you. It truly sucks! I hope you have lots of help and support.
