Sheri was thinking back to all the times Bob was up in the middle of the night baking/ burning cookies, Sheri was so frustrated to wake up at 1:00 in the morning to the sweet smell of chocolate chips. When Sheri would ask Bob why he was baking at 1:00 am, his answer was always "why not?" Maybe that was "Al" and Sheri just didn't know it? It is not that it really matters now, unless it helps others see early behavior that could signal something is wrong. Of course the kids were always pleased that the cookie fairy had come over night, except for the "over cooked ones" as the label says ;) but never the less Sheri can't help but wonder.
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
