This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was a little under the weather yesterday so Sheri stuck close to home. Desperate for something other than the TV, Sheri dug out the CD's and put on some oldies. The song "Sherry Baby" by the Four Seasons came on and Bob was singing along while painting his birdhouses. Mid way through the song "Al" turns his head to the side questioningly, and says "That name Sheri sounds familiar to me... not sure why" and promptly returned to his painting and singing. Sheri had to chuckle to herself as she thought "well Bob is in there somewhere."  :)
