This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has noticed that when Bob wants to participate in a conversation, "Al" will just look around the room, or out the window of the car, and start talking about what he sees as if it were part of the conversation . It is a very strange phenomenon, subtle changes. Sheri usually just similes and nods. What a very strange disease.

  1. Yesterday while emptying the dishwasher my husband asked where the glasses go. After I showed him he said, "Sometimes I just can't remember where things go". I had to leave the room because it brought tears to my eyes to see these changes.
