This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Yup, Sheri needs a new grooming plan. "Al" was a second away from using shaving cream as toothpaste.

  1. Oh, Sheri.....I've caught up with your last few posts. We've been out of commission here since my husband had quadruple bypass surgery Wed. morning. He came home yesterday. I have a follow-up app't with my hip surgeon so will stop to see Mother. It's been a week since I've seen her. Daddy says she's been asking about me. I've missed her so....and expect to see just a little bit more decline.... Hope Bob (AND Al) is experiencing relief following his procedure. :)

    1. Rebecca, sorry to hear about your husbands surgery, I hope it went well. There are so many things that occupy our hearts and mind aren't there? Hugs and prayers to you and yours.

  2. Maybe try an electric razor. That way you will be able to keep him groomed when Bob is no longer able to shave himself.

    1. Rita, I switched to one two years ago, we have been through 3 of them... 2 he took apart and broke, and this third one has just stopped shaving closely :( Thanks for the idea though :)
