This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Alzheimer's and Dementia is everywhere. Everywhere Sheri goes she finds someone who knows someone who has it. Yet it seems like there is still so much kept in the shadows about this disease, for what ever the reason might be. Sheri tries to give a glimpse of her day with Bob and "Al" so that people have a better idea and a little exposure of how the disease affects the victim. She uses humor to get through her day because the other option is to be on the brink of tears 24 -7, but there is nothing humorous about the devastation the disease leaves behind. It is one of the few types of diseases that affects the past, current and future life of the victims and their families.
Sheri just needs to continue to pause, praise, and pray.
