This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri took some time, at the suggestion in part from one of her cyber blog reader friends, ( thank you Mariarose:) and devised a plan for Bob and "Al" for the wedding day. She decided to do things that morning just as if "Al" were going to work, woke him the same time, followed the same schedule as a normal "work" day. Sheri got him all dressed for the wedding, and ready to go. Then one of her close church friend couples picked him up at 7:30 am and took him to breakfast, and brought Bob and "Al" to the wedding for her. It was an 11:00 am ceremony so this was perfect. While that was happening
another set of close church friends helped her do all the set up that morning at the Arboretum. The plan really could not have worked better. Sheri is so very grateful and blessed to have such wonderful friends they are like family, they are family. God is good all the time.
