This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had to take Bob and "Al" wedding dress shopping with daughter number 2 ( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve.) Sheri is going to have to have a different plan next time. "Al" was confused about what they were doing, where they were going and was making some not so nice comments about other people that were trying on dresses around them. Sheri had to keep telling him to keep his voice down. Then of course there was the "I don't feel right" stomach issue he was having that made Sheri a nervous wreck... a bridal store not the best place for an Alzheimer spouse to have a stomach issue.
Oy vey...

  1. I find their comments to be embarrassing. They are almost like have a small child. I am sorry that it was not a good shopping experience. For the mother of the bride it should have been exciting. Congratulations on your daughter upcoming wedding.
