This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is doing something way outside her comfort zone this weekend. She signed up months ago for a "Macro Photography Boot Camp." Sheri is nervous because she has never done anything like this. She really can not think of a time she did anything that was not based on a need or a want of somebody else. Sheri started taking pictures a couple of years ago after Bob's diagnosis as an escape, and fell in love with it but has not had any classes or training. She keeps reading on all the Alzheimer web sites, that she needs to do something for herself. Well this is it! She will be home each night but off in photography land during the day. Bob and "Al" will be with friends from church. She is worried she is not good enough to be with real photographers and feels a tad bit guilty about leaving Bob... but she is going to do this anyway.   :)
