This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was a man of great character. He was the strong silent type, and pleasing Sheri was important to him. He did so more with actions than words. As she looks back and thinks of all the shelves he built for her never ending craft collection, and other assorted collections she is realizing that those actions were part of Bob's "love language". The same way the pieces of melted chocolate in "Al's" pocket, and  broken Lorna Doones he swipes from "work" are "Al's" love language. Sheri is finding that sometimes she has to look backwards, to find the strength to move forward.
