This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has to continue to remind herself she does not always have to be right. She knows there is no use arguing with Bob and "Al", their judgement is long gone, but to be honest her insides are screaming sometimes. Sheri knows herself well enough to know that when she reaches this point, it is her feelings of anger, abandonment, and resentment that are surfacing. Time for a "Calgon take me away moment."   :)

  3. oh, I am so there - it's a real struggle for me to NOT argue and sometimes I fail miserably and we end up fighting. I try so hard to tell myself that he can't help himself, but it's just soooooo unfair.

  4. Cmak, I guess we need to not be to hard on ourselves, we are aware of our faults and we do our best right? Hugs to you too!
