This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri was driving Bob to "work"  (code for Adult Day Center) yesterday, and there was some road construction going on. The construction was by a crosswalk. There was a sign installed that said " yield to persons in the cross walk, it's the law". "Al" speaking Bob's confusion said, "That is just stupid, for law makers to waste their time deciding how many people can cross at the same time, what a waste of tax payers dollars." Sheri was going to try and explain but decided to just agree, it is sooooo much easier that way.  :)

  1. Indeed, even when there is no "Al" to blame! :)

  2. grain of truth in there someplace !! I have reached the stage, too, where I just agree with whatever incorrect statement DH says. So much easier than trying to carry on a "normal" conversation.
