This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri watched "Al's" confusion on Bob's face yesterday at "work" (code for Adult Day Center) when the worker would not let him pick up a chair and take it in from the side walk where they were sitting outside. When he got in the car he was clutching his jaw and said "I was going to take the chair inside but she wouldn't let me" Sheri knows better then to argue with him, but the worker seem to have a valid point. After all there was a 90 or so year old lady ... still sitting in it.  :)

  2. I want you to know you've become a daily read for me. Appreciate your humor in the face of this heart-wrenching disease. My "Al" is Bill. I live in MN too. We have journeyed with "Al" for nine years now. Bill was 58 when diagnosed.
