This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

It is very hard to undo information in "Al's" brain. Sheri dialed up Bob's only brother for him yesterday. Sheri thinks his brother maybe having a few memory issues as well, because he keeps leaving messages on Sheri's phone that he hasn't talked to Bob in a long time, even though that is not so. Anyway, some how out of the conversation Bob heard that one of their sisters had died, this was not true, but it set "Al" into a questioning tale spin. That one topic turned into a half a dozen other untruths that "Al" is now stuck on. Sheri tries hard to filter that information that Bob hears. The biggest reason is selfish she guesses, it hard to give correct answers when the question has no merit ... in the first place.
