This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had to tell a little fib to Bob yesterday. With all the talk about raising the minimum wage on the TV, "Al" mentioned he was going to ask his "boss" how much he made an hour at "work" (Code for Adult Day Center.) Sheri felt a knot rise up in throat and inside her head was swirling around. Think fast she thought think fast. Sheri replied, "Oh I wouldn't do that. You just got a raise and it goes right in to your account every month, but you should  not talk about wages at work that is one of those taboo subjects, in case you are making more than the others." "Oh... right of course not, "Bob" replied stretching out his back in his usual way "wouldn't want to stir up any trouble."
Sheri thought to herself  "No, No we wouldn't."
(heavy sigh of relief)   :)
