This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob helped Sheri and daughter number 1 (the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) de-Chrismastise ( look I invented a new word :) the house including taking down the Christmas tree. The tiny little house Sheri rented is so small that they had to have the Christmas tree set up in front of the front door. Daughter number 1 let Bob and "Al" carefully remove all the branches of their very old artificial tree and put them back in the box. The next day Bob was sitting in his favorite chair, rocking back and forth, and with one hand on his chin and his coffee in the other, turned his head to one side and said to Sheri " Didn't there used to be a tree in front of that door? "    :)
