This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri is a tiny bit frustrated. Bob has misplaced his glasses many times, but Sheri has always been able to find them. But this time "Al" has actually lost them, which hardly seems possible in this tiny little house she rented.Sheri and daughter number 1 (the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) looked all over the house again for them. They looked in every tiny spot, up high ( a favorite for Bob), down low... everywhere, but to no avail. Bob does not even look like Bob with out his glasses... for that matter neither does "Al". ( Not to mention that his "selective sight" is not that great either. :)

Oh Sheri, I "feel" for you. My mom was constantly losing her hearing aid. She never liked wearing it anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I found it smashed to smithereens. I think she selectively stepped on it while it was on the ground.
To quote you! "Gotta love em."
