This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri can tell that Bob is more and more confused. Everywhere they went this weekend  Bob was sure he had been there before. "Al" would speak Bob's mind by saying things like "This is where so and so got married." This is where I delivered a grill." "This is where ..." None of which was correct. Sheri just nodded in agreement because she has learned this is out of her control. (And it frustrates her terribly.)  Sheri can tell that Bob is struggling to find a past he knows he had, but "Al" can't figure out where he put it.
