This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri and Bob were watching a show called Storage Wars last night, Bob seemed to really be enjoying it because of the fast talking auctioneer, he even made some jokes about items and so forth. They watched several episodes before Bob said he was tired and wanted to go to bed. They got up got ready for bed, and as soon as they laid down on the bed "Al" said " Isn't there any thing on TV?" Sheri replied "We just watched TV the Storage Wars show. "I did not watch that" "Al" retorted , I have not watched TV all day."  "Okay" Sheri replied then do you want to go back out to the living room and watch TV for a while?" Yes "Al" replied "But first I have to figure out how to lift my legs."  Sheri, not knowing quite what to say said, "Well if we just go to sleep now, we can figure it out in the morning." Bob said "Okay." And that was that. Sheri is going to need to be creative.  :)
