This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob was toasting English muffins for his favorite meal (Sheri quit buying bagels), He was on his third one. He stepped into the living room and asked Sheri if she wanted one. Sheri said no, but daughter number one ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) spoke up and said she would like one. Bob said okay and stepped back into the kitchen and put one in the toaster for her. A few minutes past and daughter number one went in to check on her English muffin. It was on "Al's" plate in the process of being eaten. Daughter number one asked Bob where her muffin was and "Al" replied "this one is mine, I didn't know you wanted one." (That makes four.)    :)
