This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

This weekend Sheri with the help of daughter number two (the one who shields her heart with her sleeve) managed to empty some boxes from the garage, a task she has been looking forward to, to some degree. Any way she had Bob cutting up the boxes to save space in the trash. He would use one box to put all the pieces in and then fill the next. Bob would work diligently setting each box off to the side next to him. When he had finished filling a box "Al" would look at the last box he had put on the ground next to him and say "Have you emptied this one already?" Needless to say it was a very long day.    :)
