This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob has another fixation. Every since the early Spring has bloomed, Bob has been admiring all of the trees that have the beautiful pink flowers on them. Every day both on the way to "work" (code for Adult Day Center) and on the way he home, he will say "I just can't get over how many of the those big pink trees there are, they must have just planted them because I have never seem them before." So finally Sheri said "Well maybe they have been there along time and you just never noticed them." "No" "Al" replied with an air of attitude in his voice, "I used walk these streets every day and they were not here." Oh Sheri chuckled to herself... I didn't know that!
(P.S. Bob never walked these streets)    :)
