Sheri is happy Bob is excited all the time. She picks him up at "work" ( code for adult day center) the conversation went like this. Did you have a good day Bob? Bob replies "yes it went fast, and look at all the candy I won, it is here in my pocket!" Wow Sheri says did you answer everything right again? " Yep" Bob replies with a big grin on his face. 2 minutes later..."Al" says to Sheri grinning ear to ear "Oh I forgot to show you all the candy I won today showing Sheri the pocket in his shirt. They get home Bob shares the candy with Sheri and daughter number 1. 5 minutes later as they sit down at the table and Bob jumps up (well not quite jumps) and goes to his coat and comes back scratching his head in is usual way. "Al" says huh.. I was gonna show you all the candy I won today, but I guess I left it at work. :)
Simple pleasures Sheri, simple pleasures.
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
