This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob said he was going to read the chapter for bible study tomorrow, he asked Sheri for a highlighter, Sheri was thrilled (usually she has to read the chapter to him.) Sheri peeked in on him several hours later, Sheri does not know if Bob actually read it, but "Al" had highlighted every word, in every sentence, on every page through the whole chapter! 37 pages!  OMG  :)

  1. Sheri, My dad is finally going in to be evaluated. His memory has gone downhill so quickly. I know I told you my parents still live in Texas. Wish I lived there to help her. She has no one to help her. But she is finally admitting that there is a problem. It has been a long haul just trying to get her to admit there is a problem and to get him some help. He can't carry on a conversation. He falls so frequently that it scares me. He is a big man! I am surprised he hasn't broken anything. He is also in an adult diaper. It had to get this bad before Mom would seek help! I have my hands tied. I have begged her to get him help. I know this sounds like am just a complainer but I am a nervous wreck trying to convince mom to seek help. Thanks for letting me vent or not....lol. I read every post you make. Take care. God bless you and Bob!

  2. Ahh Sheri, I was laughing at this one so hard. I could just see my Mom doing the very same thing.

So many of your posts bring smiles to me and sweet memories of my Mom. She passed away 3 years ago, and believe me, you will treasure these memories forever, especially the sweet and funny.

I wanted to thank you for the idea about your poll. I added one to my Facebook page as well. It's very interesting indeed.

Thank you for the smiles everyday and your wonderful sense of humor Sheri.
