This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri and Bob went downstairs to see if they could get the boiler running. Sheri knows that last year it was questionable whether Bob still knew what he was doing. Often in the past Bob had to add water to the tank by turning one of 2 knobs right next to the boiler, to keep it operating correctly. While starting the boiler up last night Sheri asked Bob if he remembered which knob he turns to add the water. "Al" scratched Bob's head and turned to the utility sink and said "Well this knob over here makes the water come out of the sink, we could do it that way." Sheri is thinking she better find a very cheap boiler guy... quickly.   :(
