This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob is tall and very lean
Eats only when he feels the need

"Al" is hungry all the time
Especially, if Bob is feeling fine

So we eat, the regular time
Then "Al" will ask "Did we eat tonight?"

Bob is frustrated gaining weight..
"Al" gets dizzy feeling faint...

So round and round the story goes
Sheri wishes there was end to these Alzheimer woes.

  1. Hi Sheri. I haven't had this problem myself, but others I have known, have given the hungry one an apple or another type of fruit, and said we will eat later and try to distract him/her. I hope you find an answer soon.
