This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri and Bob were out in the garden watching the birds last night, they have been doing this daily. Sheri is trying to capture every garden memory she can before fall comes. Anyway, Bob sees a huge black crow fly by "Al" with great excitement in his voice says " Look! A crow can fly in both directions!" Sheri replies "What do you mean?" "Al" answers, pointing at the crow, "well it was in that weeping willow, and it flew over to that weeping willow, and then it flew back! That is amazing!"  (Simple pleasures Sheri, simple pleasures)   :)

  1. I love these glimpses you share. It helps a lot to see the humor in moments like this. My heart breaks for you leaving your dear garden.
