This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob is broken, not only his body
but his mind and spirit as well
Sheri is broken too
She is tired and does not want to do this by herself any more
Bob has not been whole in a very long time
not as father or a husband
Sheri hasn't either, as a wife or a mother.
She wants a life in some way shape or form.
Sheri wonders what God has in store for her
She is taking one giant leap of faith...
If she can just get herself to jump.

  1. Sheri, I felt the same way until I just got the call from the Nursing Home. It's a beautiful facility... good homes are out there. Finding them is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I will pray for you to get the relief you need. I totally understand the pressure and how overwhelming caring for a dementia patient is day in and day out.

    Big hugs.
