This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob and Al were helping Sheri uncover the air conditioners last evening. Sheri is trying to show Bob where they are and work with him to remove the wooden boards and insulation they put up in the fall. There are three windows in the master bedroom. One window has had the same air conditioner in it for 15 years. Sheri leaves the room to get a drill and comes back to find "Al" taking out a window screen and glass of a window that does not have the AC in it. "Bob" Sheri says "What are you doing?" Taking out the window to put the air conditioner in" Sheri replies " well good news we don't need to do that. the AC is right over here in this other window." Bob shakes his head in frustration " Well I suppose you know best" he retorts. Sheri said no really it is right here. "Al" replies "Oh. I didn't know that."
Bob turns back to the window he was working with, still trying to take the screen out. Sheri says Bob please leave that screen in we need it to keep the bugs out. "Al" replies I have to take it out to get the AC in."
Oy vey...
