This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Today is May 5th, Bob woke Sheri early this morning, asking if she wants to go to church today. Sheri thinks "Al" is hung up on thinking it is Sunday, again. Sheri tells Bob that it is Thursday a work day. "Al" replies " I think they have services today".
Hummmm...... Somehow Sheri doesn't think so. Then "Al" pulls out of his pocket an advertisement for their church that he tore out of a newspaper yesterday at the "Continuing Education Center" (code for Adult Day Care). He shows it to Sheri "see" "Al" says "Services for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, don't you want to go?" Sheri takes a deep breath and mumbles to herself well.... maybe next year?  :)
