This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

All seemed to be going well yesterday on the way to the CEC (Continuing Education Center ie: Adult Day Care)
As Sheri pulled off to drop Bob off, he said "I will be glad when this part is over and we can get back to normal"
Sheri said what do you mean, he replied "when I don't have to go here any more" "They do a good job entertaining, but I don't need to be entertained, I need a job and to make some money".
Yes that was Bob's life always task driven, had to be doing something that produced something. Sheri thinks it is interesting that he has lost so much...yet that basic drive still remains. Sheri did not have the heart to tell him this is the new "normal".
