This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is thankful that Bob and "Al" are settling in at the Continuing Education Center better known as the Adult Day Care. He likes the people and says "they are really going places, and make a real effort to do a good job".  His days are going by fast which is such a blessing, the nursing home was just the opposite.
Bob said he was helping other people figure out how old they are, because  "they did not have a clue." Sheri said "oh good maybe you can help the workers take care of them." Bob was excited and said "Oh yes they really have their hands full there, but they know what they are doing and have excellent customer service." Sheri laughed to herself, Bob ran a hardware store in his last career, customer service was at the top of the priority list, so she guesses "Once in customer service , always in customer service!"
Blessed again, thank you Lord.
