This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

So Sheri tried a different task with Bob at work
She had some simple filing that needed to be done
She sat Bob and "Al" down in front of her at her desk
she showed Bob the apartment number on the form
and showed him the drawer with the files
he just needed to match the form number to the file number
and put the form on the back flap.
By the time he pulled the file, and look back at the form
he would forget that he had already pulled the file,
he would turn back to the filing cabinet and say "that file is not here"
and Sheri would say " the file is already on your lap"
"Al" would say " Oh I didn't know that"
there were about 25 forms to file so...
Sheri thinks she will have to try the painting thing again....
