This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob has been coming to work with Sheri everyday
It has proven to not be quite as easy as Sheri would
have hoped to keep "them" busy..
Although there is plenty to paint, Bob tires easily
well, what Sheri really means is that his knees, back and neck
tire easily. They take a break at 12:00 noon for lunch and eat together in the party room.
then yesterday Bob was doing some touch up painting
on one of the floors. He came down to the first floor to use the bathroom
around 3:00 pm.When Sheri came out of here office, she saw him standing in the lobby
a little confused, and worn out.
Sheri said "Are you okay?" "Al"replied "ya...but I can't find the paint"
"Do you mean the little cup you were using for the touch up paint?"
Sheri asks. "yes and the brush and the towel" "Al" replies.
"Oh" Sheri says "What floor were you on?" 'Al" scratches his head
and says "Oh I don't think I have used it since we ate lunch"
the caretaker of the building passes by with a smile on his face
and says "he was up on third a few minutes ago"
And the hunt began for the paint cup...
