This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is feeling down Sheri and Bob have a player piano
They have made it a practice over
over the years to invite seniors over
to hear the piano since most of the music
is of an older style...
Anyway, they often told the story lovingly
of when one dear sweet woman who was 88
at the time, came over at Thanksgiving
and when all were gathered around the
the piano choosing which piano rolls to play
the dear woman would repeatedly ask for the same
song even though it had just been played... sometimes
She would make the same request 3 or 4 times in a row.
Tonight, Sheri was playing the piano rolls for Bob
and "Al" requested the same song over and over several
times.. Sheri paused and swallowed hard as
recalled the sweet story...

But Bob and "Al" are 67.
