This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

One of the harder things about Alzheimers
is that people that don't see Bob very often
say to Sheri that he appears to be doing just fine.
On Friday a friend that has know Bob for years
dropped by to deliver something to the house
Sheri was not home.
The gentleman saw Sheri the next day, and  he stated
That he and Bob had a very nice 15 to 20 minute conversation
and that Bob seemed to be doing just great.
Sheri said really? He proceed to tell her about the
conversation he had with Bob when he dropped off the sign
When Sheri got home she asked Bob about seeing his long time friend
"Al" responded with " No I did not see him, but I wondered how that sign got here"
With Alzheimer's Bob and "Al" live "in the moment" and yep in the moment
"they"are just fine.....
