Sheri, Bob and "Al" are trying to get used
to the quiet in the house
With daughter number 1 living on her own
and daughter number 2 at college
the house sounds a little hollow,
but every once in while Sheri
will see and hear the images of daughters 1 and 2
playing in livingroom singing songs, building blanket tents
or sitting on the kitchen counter eating the cookie dough
Images from years past when Sheri thought
that Bob just didn't care about the way she felt
or that he just wasn't paying attention
All she really wants now is strong hug
reasurance that everything will be alright...
Psalm 18:32-34 NIV
It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect...
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Your post calling them Bob and 'Al' remind me of when I had a friend that had multiple personalities. I got pretty good at figuring out which one I was talking with. With this horrible disease I guess it is like having someone with multiple personalities, at least until 'Al' takes over total control. My hb is not as far along as yours, but I know we will be there someday.
ReplyDeleteMost of all I enjoy the scripture you have added at the end.
