This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is thinking that this "no kids at home" thing
is gonna be rough,
Daughter number two is  leaving for college this weekend
She has been helping Sheri keep an eye "Al'.
She says he really doesn't do much but sleep
and play with the cat., and do dishes
Even less when his back, knee and shoulder hurt.
And daughter number two
( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve)
gave a hint that she worried that "Dads" memory
may fade more while she gone to college...
Funny how we put off thinking things,
until we have too.

Psalm 121:1-2 NIV
"I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."
