This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri gets a call at work
Bad news Bob says
Something on the boiler broke

So Sheri rushes home
to see what has happened
water all over the floor
But "they" say that " they've"  got it.

So they look all over
for the handle thats missing
"I put it right here" Bob says
Well Al wasn't listening

Sheri finds the valve
on the floor in a shoe
How it got there
She has not a clue

Well off to the hardware store
to by a new part
"they" come with her
Sheri's not very smart

They get to the store an old friend says to Bob
"Haven't seen you around
Want to manage a store?"

Bob turns to Sheri
She can see his excitment
But Al turns to Sheri
and says "I don't think that I know him"

Well they go home to together
and one step a time
they repair the boiler
it will be fine...

But what won't be fine is she can't
repair the valve to the knowledge
Bob can no longer share.....  :(
