Sheri took Bob to the doctor today
Nose bleeds, knee hurts
lab work on the way
They limp down the hall
walk in through the door
the nurse says the scale
is right inside on the wall
He steps up
Sheri hold her breathe
Bob's been saying he's getting fat
From to much rest
Bob looks down
But he gives no reaction
Not sure what "thery're" thinking
But the scales measures his pounds
right down to the fraction
We finish the appointment
and go home for lunch
Al takes out a bagel
And begins to munch
And then Bob states loudly
as if pleasantly surprised
I thought for sure I'd gained weight
Becasue my back brace is too tight...
"But scale at the doctors showed 136"
Bob says with a smile,
as he is eating cookies and milk
Sheri tilts her head
and starts to question
Cause the number on the scale was 187..... :(
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
