This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has realized she has only touched the surface of what she is feeling. Sheri has said before that she and Bob's marriage was shaky at best before she knew about "Al",  which is why redefining roles and relationships is so hard now. There are so many unresolved issues that she will never get resolved, and now when she sees him in the long term care facility, and she not doing the day to day cares, she goes blind to the disease for a quick moment and just wants a quick moment of Bob... for some answers. Although the reasonable part of Sheri's brain knows that "Al" is the answer, all these dark and winding roads in her mind lead only to a dead end street.
