This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sometimes Sheri looks around and she thinks about what a blessing it is to have just been able to wake up in the morning. She doesn't ever want to lessen God's part in this miraculous event. When she thinks about all the things God did not let happen to her, her loved ones or friends on a daily basis... she can not help but be on her knees with thanksgiving. Think about it, if you are reading this, it is by the grace of God only, that you have had one more day of safe driving, safe flying, boating, swimming, walking running you name it. And if you are reading this it is by the grace of God you had one more day of being free from a life threatening illness, or tragic weather event. People like you and I are being plucked from this would every single moment of every single day. Think of the things God protected you from to you get you today. If you are, 60 God has protected you for 60 years that 365 days x 60= 21,900 days of protection, If you are 80 it is 80 x 365= 29,200 days of protection. You and I are here ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD. Think about it, then Pause, Praise and Pray.

  1. Good morning, Sheri, and thank you very much for sharing these thoughts today. I was already thinking similar things this AM: my next breath and next heartbeat are from the Lord (that is, EVERY SINGLE ONE)! Then I read your post so that will be my meditating "theme" today...on another note, so happy that Sir Cooper is on the mend, that Bob had a very nice birthday, and that you are surviving a very difficult season while God is holding onto you. You are encouraging many people by your reminding us to Pause, Praise & Pray. Love & prayers, Kathryn
